Based on an explicit review of the development of business Chinese, this book discusses the theoretical issues concerning business Chinese teaching on the one hand, such as the curriculum, syllabus design, discipline construction and textbook research, and makes practical explorations on the other by studying the various methods employed in the practice of business Chinese teaching, aiming to broaden the thinking of business Chinese researchers and provide methodological guidance for business Chinese teachers as well.
Ms. Shen Shuying is an associate professor and a postgraduate tutor in Beijing Language and Culture University who has been engaged in the teaching and research of Chinese as a foreign language for many years, with her efforts focused on the research of business Chinese teaching, international Chinese education and textbooks of Chinese as a foreign language. Ms. Shen has hosted a planned fund program of humanities and social science studies of China’s Ministry of Education and has published dozens of papers on key journals, including “Orientation of the Comprehensive Business Chinese Course” and “A Few Thoughts on the Development of Confucius Institutes from the Perspective of ‘Exporting’ Chinese Culture”, and so on. Her books include The Word Syllabus of Business Chinese for Undergraduate Education (chief compiler), Business Chinese: Advanced Reading Course in the series Erya Chinese and An Exploration into the Theories and Practices on Compiling Textbooks for Chinese as a Foreign Language, etc.
